A More Simple World

I don't get it... I make that statement a lot. I just don't get our world. I think I'm too simple and when I look around at how complicated everything and everyone is, I am overwhelmed.

I've been cross country skiing lately and when I'm alone in those woods everything makes sense. The only noise are the birds, my skis against the snow, and the wind at my face. Life is simple then, and all the crazy ridiculous things that over complicate our lives are faded out by nature. I thinks it's God's way of reminding me that life is simple. To remind me that life can be enjoyed.

Many things make sense in the woods. I see how much we can hide behind our entertainment instead of facing relationships head on. We escape to a world that doesn't exists only to be depressed when we wake up from that world. We run from our responsibilities to one another that God has laid out for us to help us. We can be too proud to encourage those close to us and too afraid to deal with issues with one another. We make an excuse and let our entertainment put us into a daze until all is glazed over, but the issues still remain.

This isn't everyone's experience but I know it's common. And it's just some
of the things that make me feel like a foreigner to this world. I don't belong here and I never will. I'm ok with that because I do have a home. It's just not here. So hopefully in those times when all is well and simple I can learn to do what God reveals.

What is over-complicating your life? Do you resort to going into the entertainment daze to get by? Remember that Gods ways for us are not a burden but are a blessing. When we try to live our relationships in the right way by putting others first, being humble and acting in a way that Christ would if he were in your place it will be rewarding. Life will make sense again.

Don't waste your relationships by putting aside what needs to be worked out. Gods ways are always better then ours.

Temple

I just got through editing and re-editing a bunch of photos back in Cambodia again.  While spending the 2 1/2 months I was there in Battambang I got to spend a weekend in the city of Siem Reap. Our team took an afternoon at the temples.  Angkor Wat being the most famous.  I posted one back in 2011 when I had gone.  These photos are of various temples in and around Angkor Wat.  The largest being the Bayon Temple.  We got to walk in, on and all around the temples.

Older Generation

I wanted to post a few more pictures for you.  I'm not very good at updating this all the time, but I do want to keep trying.  So today I've got some pictures back from Cambodia.  I was able to serve in Battambang for 2 1/2 months.  I fell in love with the place and there's not a day that goes by that I don't think about the people and my experiences there.
Here are some pictures of the older generation.  I only had brief encounters with most of them.  Though the encounters were brief the impact they have had on me and the memories left our lasting.  They were some of the kindest, funniest and hospitable people I have ever met.  The lines on their faces clearly identify that they have not had the easiest of lives, but yet they remain full of joy.  They cherish their families and they welcomed me like I was one of their own.
